You play out the string in worlds motivated by pettiness and spite, and you are so deluded you wear it like a badge of honor. Everyone else can see it for what it is, which is why you always end up playing alone.
You can call VM a “strategy” but the tactic is universally scorned and I don’t see why this context would be any different.
This exchange, while absurd, does seem a fitting epilogue to the sordid and distasteful story of this world.
