I'm not quite sure why you are so upset about Antiquity choosing to turn on you, after you have have been secretly discussing when the appropriate time to turn
on them would be. You can't really blame people for taking matters into their own hand and throw a punch when it suits them, rather than waiting for the knife to be lunged into their back when it suits you. It's not my kind of play style, so I can't really judge this matter, but I probably would've done the same if I got word that an ally (or NAP, whatever floats your boat) has been deliberating when they should be getting rid of us.
And no, a NAP is not the same as a pact. In a pact, we'd be lining up our attacks together on the same cities, assisting in defense when necessary, and the list goes on - pretty much what you have been doing with Antiquity, but refusing to call that a 'pact'. We're not doing any of that, and even though it's not up to me, I wouldn't want to be doing it in the near future either. Temporarily stepping back and leaving one another alone, to fight a enemy we deem more dangerous than one another, is what most would consider a NAP. If you don't, that's completely fine, to each his own. But I think many would agree on the main difference between a NAP and a pact: Leaving one another alone, or actively working together.
As for the whole list of alliances you managed to produce, that we are allegedly NAP'd/pacted with and singing kumbaya, the only one - as far as I'm concerned - that is correct, is MiT as a pact. And to be honest, I don't really know why, because we're not close to any of them, but that's up to leadership to decide.
K.o.D.: We actually had an OP going on a K.o.D. player last week (
http://grepointel.com/track.php?server=us62&pn=toddsmart&rt=conquest), so I'm not sure why they're up on the list.
House of Ares: literally who? These guys are in South-Eastern 55. How do you expect us to attack them? Easy to say 'Oh you guys are NAP'd because you're not attacking them!'. That'd make you NAP'd with K.o.D. for example, because they're out of reach to attack.... right? Right.
Angels: The majority is in mid-54, where we have little to no presence at all. The ones that are actually in O44 are regularly having their alarms set off by us, as far as I know, so once again, what makes you think we are NAP'd with them? Not constantly clobbering an enemy day and night in every city they have, isn't really the same as a NAP either. Man, my alliance and yours must be NAP'd at some of our off-days by those standards
I won't bother with explaining Antiquity. Whoops, you caught us there, there's a NAP in place!
But honestly, at the end of the day, it is, and always will be, an online browser game. I really don't understand why you all go so deep into politics and diplomacy, when you could just be enjoying the game - why you'd forge devious plans in some secret chat room about backstabbing your (former) partners for your own gain, rather than being upright and honest with them and having a good time when playing?
Anyways, have a beer and sit back, it'll be a good few weeks coming up now
