When you get new traffic in the your Alliance Forum a scroll appears to the right signifying you have unread posts.
As soon as you read any of the posts that scroll disappears. Also tabs with multiple post - reading one will clear the blueness of the Tab even though there is still unread traffic.
My feeling is that the blueness of the tabs should only clear when all traffic for a tab is read and the Scroll should only clear when all tabs are cleared.
Additional: some times even though you have read all traffic - the blueness does NOT disappear after all the traffic is read, although the scroll does vanish.
Confusing I know. I have not (until) recently really noticed this.
If necessary I can take a series of screen shots the next time I know I have a bunch of traffic which may help.
Can anyone verify or provide additional information.
