Colonization - while being conquered

Scenario: Revolt world Player 1 has 2 cities

Player 1 sends a CS to colonize a small anchor point (Rock) from City 2
Player 2 revolts Player 1 City 2
Player 1 has CS land and 24 hour colonization period begins
Player 2 sends CS to Player 1 before the 24 hour colonization period ends
Player 2 conquers Player 1 City 2
Player 1 still has City 1

My assumptions: All units sent from City 2 will be lost . The colonized city will not succeed.

What happens to the colonized city?
