I'd have better liked to see a faster catapult (that's cool to take down walls of you farms on your island...) than just a lower pop use... A bit disappointed but still a good idea :-D

I agree with Kyllmen the population doesn't matter that much, I just would like catapults to move faster.

I disagree that the population does not matter. Population is everything in this game. While lowering the population requirement you will probably get a few more players to build them but they will still be relegated to fights on the same Island as they are built, which is why those that like them want them to be faster. Even at a population of 10 you can only put 2 on a transport or 1 on a fast transport (bunks help a little but not that much).

I think that if you really want players to start playing around with high population units like the catapult you need to make more overall population available and up the transport capability of both transports and fast transports.

Population does matter but not as much as speed, you get so much population anyway that making the catapult less isn't really making it more attractive to players who are considering researching it. The speed is the thing that is important, a catapult is 3 times slower than a Colony Ship and such slow moving troops aren't things that people want to bother researching.

Well honestly speed is only a little piece. Your catas will most likey be on boats not, land attacks. A lwer population would be alot better. To take a level 25 wall down to 0 in one hit takes around 30 cata's with an excellent escort with excellent luck. 15 population times 30 catapults is 450 population, a big chunk of a ground nuke.

Sending cata's over land is a nice way to simulate the travel time of a CS, so the speed is fine. When they need to take a wall down you just put them on boats with the rest of the units.

This is a bad idea and wouldn't be accepted by Innogames because they only want to improve what they already have and they don't want new units (except for light ship)...

I still think that I'd rather have a faster catapult... The catapult is one of the units in the game that loots the best and it would be good to be able to put the walls down and farm a player at the same time while the player is offline...

They uped speed on a hero world so don't think they will do it on a normal one.

Catas are really good in a revolt world but not usefull in a conquer world unless for farming purposes.

In a revolt world the best tactic is to pull down the wall right after start the revolt. To do that you need catas.

In a conquer world you need the city wall to hold the siege. To pull down the wall just a litlle (under lvl 20) you could use both earthquakes and just a bunch of catas, but not too many.

Can't see any change to improve catas. Thought its a well balanced unit.

what would be nice would be if you had the option to target certain buildings like the harbour or the barracks rather then just the wall or after the wall is down move on to certain buildings

This already exists on Hero Worlds with the research 'Improved catapult' ;-)

Exactly! most rebalancing can be fixed with adjusting the pop requirement of the item. at least drop the pop down enough to be able to put one cat on a fast transport.

or make a certain percentage of the Cat Attack strike random parts of the city like a lightning bolt does. say 80% damage to the wall and 20 percent throughout the city. or if there is no wall apply 100% and reduce multiple buildings within the city.

Cats pop needs to be lowered to around 10. I don't need a a faster cat. Ill just send it on a ship even if the town I'm taking the wall down on is only a farm on my island.
