Battle Villages Questions

With the new farming system in place, if a city is lost, and then that city, or another city on an island, is retaken, do you still keep the fully upgraded farming villages? Or do you have to start over and spend another 1600 BP to max them?

The villages should remain at the level they were when your last city on the island was conquered.
