Hi, I don't know how to ask anyone for help but here goes. I have just started on this game and wanted to know how you attack for battle points and to gain more farms etc. Also how can you tell if they are an ally or enemy?

Help needed

Thanks.
Also how do I get a reply from this and where do I find it?

Welcome to Grepolis!

Battle points can be gained when you attack someone and kill their troops (as long as their troops aren't militia). For each population you kill you get 1 battle point. Each unit has a different number of population used per unit. You attack by clicking on someone's city and filling in the amount of troops you want to send and pressing attack. If they are not on your island you have to send ships to bring them there. Ships can be built once you have a harbor. Another thing to note is that at the beginning of a world there is a certain period of days after someone starts called beginner's protection where they can't be attacked.

Farms can be gained by attacking them with troops. You click on the farms and send the troops you want to conquer it. Your troops must wipe out all of the defending troops to gain the farm. You also must have a certain amount of troops to start with to be able to attack it. This number increases as you conquer more farms.

You can tell if someone is an ally or enemy based on their flag color. Blue means that they are in your alliance. Green means that your alliance is pacted with or working with their alliance. Red means that they are your enemy, and brown means that you/ your alliance hasn't marked them as anything.

Here is the wiki article on attacking.

Hope this helps :)

When sending off island (unless you are sending flying myth units) your troops go in transports. I'd suggest that you don't send these without an escort of attacking naval units (Light ships, Trireme, Hydra). Just 1 bireme will sink 100s of transports, all of your troops will drown and your enemy will gets loads of BP and you will get nothing. Unless you are 100% sure that the city you are attacking will have nothing in the harbor then don't risk sending them on their own.

Flying myths tho, don't need naval vesslels bacause they fly over defensive boats so they do not require and escort.

Aside from the battle points, you can get loot too. Attacking for resources is called farming. Because flying myths are more expensive, I suggest using land units to clear away their land units. If they are not on the same island, send transport boats or fast transport boat to carry the land units and light ships to escort them. Your troops might die, but you will get battle points. However, some good fighters cannot carry a lot of loot. So after making sure the enemy's units are dead, you can send in more expensive flying myths to farm the resources. This way, they are less likely to die. However, if you find that you did not loot as much as you could have, sending in the farming units would be unnecessary as you probably already looted all of their resources that you could. And then, there are the exceptions. If you have a large dive bombing fleet, feel free to send them in waves at the enemy. You might loose some, but if you have a lot it will not matter. If you try an attack, and the report says that your ships were sunk by a large army of defensive boats, and because they occupy the area, they got lazy on land units, you might choose to only attack with flying myths because ships won't get through anyways. I like farming my neighbors for resources, but once you kill off their army, you only get resources and not battle points because you didn't kill any units. Attacking too often is useless because they don't have units for battle points nor resources to loot. And once you run out od pop, you desperately need cities, not resources. You should then keep on attacking different people, like they are on shifts. This way, they all have enough time to build up some units for battle points but not a large army that can wipe you out. They are very useful in organizing victory processions, which allows you to build more cities. If you are a gold spender in a world with no battle point villages, forget about battle points and farm instead. Olympic games are way better.

Just remember: ATTACK, BUILD, REPEAT
