Worst newbie mistake...

I thought I saw a thread for worst newbie player mistakes, but don't see it now, so here's mine...

Of course I'm still new, and this just happened like 20 mins ago, but totally embarrassing!!

I got a message that I was being attacked! I sent out a mass mail giving all my details and the eta of the incoming attack! Then, as soon as the attack came in, only a minute later mind you... I posted the battle report up on the forum! It was at this moment that I realized, that an hour earlier I had accepted a quest to be attacked... OMG!!

So yeah, spent the next 10 minutes being flooded with incoming support and having to tell each person what mistake I had made and thanks for the support but cancel it...

I'm going to go hide under my pillow now, g'night Grepo!

I did this when they first came out with the island quests, but I didn't send a mass mail so I was able to just delete my forum post :)

Veshi,

Many new players to this game do that. Half of my team has done it!

Don't worry about it. Everyone learns

In Thebes, I once messed up my support and sent it as an attack. I fed Fadiga 250 biremes worth of DBP.

in Omicron I once forgot to send my LS with my CS. I gave Murty a whole nuke and CS for that one.

In Omega, somehow recruited 8 spies into my alliance..

Yet somehow both the alliances that sent them, STILL couldn't touch us! ;)

20 vs 330+ players.

OK I have a couple of Noob questions...

What is the difference between LS and CS?
Can you build more than one of any building?
When you demolish a building, do you get resources back and do you lose points?

Thanks!

1) CS is a Colony Ship. In order to found or conquer a city. You MUST have a CS launched at the specified target. These are easily killed and should never be used to just attack someone. Think of this boat as your "precious cargo".

LS is Light Ship. These are your offensive boats. You will want to send these to kill every other type of boat a defending player has. They also kill other LS' and CS'.

2) Yes. You can build two buildings at a time. If you go through the tutorial, there will be a point where you can put 7 building levels in the building que. However, each building and each level has different build times.

3) No and yes. But points isn't what wins the game. If you wish to be a city builder, you'll become a MASSIVE target for big alliances and others who aren't city builders. Like the guy I'll be conquering later tonight ;) -> (It's not you, don't worry).

LS are offensive naval units that are used on biremes and sometimes triemes (if attacking a conquest town...or The Rebellion). They basically pound away at enemy harbors and escort your land units and the CS.

The CS is a unit that doesn't fight but can be used to conquer towns. You have to land it in a town and hold the town for 12 hours. Typically the biggest risk you run of losing a CS once it lands is either a few seconds after the CS lands or within the first two hours. Sending a CS without an LS usually means that its death.

You can't build more than one building in a city. You can, however, increase its level making production faster. But bear in mind this has an effect on your population. Meaning you have to decide how much is enough and what should be used for troops?

When you demolish a building I don't think you get the resources back. You do lose points.

1. LS is a fighting ship
2. CS lets you conquer other towns
3. You do not get resources back and yes you lose points
