Wonder Islands with less than 20 cities and Farms and general wonder issues.

This is for informational purposes only...for situational awareness in case you run into the same issue in your own world.

In US3 Gamma the the top alliance 300 able to build multiple wonders of the same type. We took over a city on their wonder island ([town]17229[/town]) and effectively stopped progress on their building of the Statue of Zues and they are currently rebuilding it on another island ([island]296581[/island]). This shouldn't be possible, correct? If so, then we should also be able to build another of the same wonder assuming we have complete control of that island. Which it will not allow us to do.

Also another alliance 2nd Coming is able to build wonders on islands that have only 2 cities on them because they tricked the server into thinking they had whole island control... the server never opened the other points on the islands never opened up so effectively they have island control with only 2 spots being held ([island]352415[/island] ; [island]352367[/island] ; [island]352374[/island] ; [island]352444[/island]) . It is my understanding that this should not happen. Can you if nothing else please clarify the ruling on this? We have to protect 20 cities to hold a wonder and they are protecting only 2.

SUPPORT RESPONSE:

Hello Ralliart2004,

If you have stopped their building of a wonder on one island, they no longer have it and can build it on another. You can only build 1 at a time, but if you no longer have the old one, you can build it elsewhere new.

As for the islands with 2 cities, they have done nothing illegal, they did not "trick" the server into anything. The islands with only 2 city slots have advantages and disadvantages. The small islands have no farms, but if they have a wonder spot, they can build one there. Nothing illegal has taken place.

Hope this explains it for you.

THE RULES DIRECTLY FROM WIKIGREPOLIS:

Demolition of Wonders
There are two types of ways in which a Wonder can be demolished. The first type is partial demolition and is through loss of control of the island. The second type is total demolition and is through the disbanding of an alliance.

Loss of Island Control
Should an alliance lose control of one or more cities on an island with a Wonder under construction, the current level on which the Wonder is being built will be lost. For example: If Alliance A is building Level 7 of Wonder X, and have put 10,000,000 resources towards its completion; if Alliance B comes in and takes a city on that island, then all of the resources for Level 7 will be lost and the Wonder will remain at Level 6 with construction halted until control of the island is regained.

If the island contains a Level 10 Wonder, loss of a city will result in the Wonder being knocked down a level to Level 9. At this point, other alliances with the same Wonder can then attempt to complete their Wonder.

Note: This is also the case if a city on the island ghosts. However, unlike the loss of a city through conquest, the alliance will still be able to continue building the wonder, though at a loss of the last completed level and resources.

MY RESPONSE:

Why can we then not create a new wonder? Ours has been halted and we are unable to start the same wonder over on a new island.

Respectfully,

Ralliart2004

Also, you cannot build a wonder on an island without farms. Also their islands have farms but only 2 city slots open. I put bbcode in the ticket so that it could be researched.

Hopefully this helps someone else if they run into this in a different world.

Regards,

Here is the answer provided:

You cannot build it because the wonder is in progress, they could build it because you destroyed them. If you lose one city, the progress is halted, losing them all allows you to start over.

Their 2 slot city wonder islands are standard, at a certain point once WW begin, they system shuts off the new anchor points to stop people from colonizing during WWs. We do not release the specifics of the algorithm.

300 is far from destroyed in that world...somehow their wonder disappeared and they were able to recreate the wonder...the only thing different is that they had to start over from level 0 again, but it's still a flaw in the game...they should have had to take back the city from us in order to build the statue at all.

So what you're saying is:
If you've played a WW world before you get a supreme advantage over everybody else because you know you can put 1 city down ahead of time and have 5% of the cities to defend.

Essentially giving you 20x the troops in the city to defend meaning it's darn right unbreakable.

And if an alliance loses 1 city on an island and has WW progress halted, they can simply remove all members on that island from the alliance, have their wonder destroyed, and restart it.
