Greetings Grepolis Community,

We hope you had a wonderful Valentine's day! With the holiday being over it is now time for us to vote on our Valentine's Day Entries! We had a lot of wonderful poems and it was extremely hard for us to narrow down our selection to 10 entries. I would like to personally thank everyone that submitted a poem, they were wonderful to read!

Now on to the voting. Below are the 10 entries that the moderation team has hand picked. Please vote for your favorite entries, you can select 1 or all 10 if you wish. At the end of the poll we will announce the winner!

You are not allowed to vote for your own entry or solicit votes inside or outside of the Grepolis Community. Entries caught doing this will be disqualified. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry if we deem that the voting process has been tampered or undermined in any fashion.

Without further delay here are your entries:

Entry 1:

[spr]We met at dawn,
On the bloody fields.
I came to you new,
To you my wall yields.

I sigh with desire to learn,
My troops beg for chances.
I long to be with you,
Fighting like one dances.

An alliance I seek,
To meld with the one,
Who can make me strong!
Please let it be done.

I already worship you,
From both far and near,
Grepolis, Grepolis...
Already so dear.
[/spr]
Entry 2:

[spr]They sent their ships of War,
that have arrived at my shore.
My armada of biremes, shone in the light.
Protecting the city with defensive might.
Swords, hoplites and archers at the ready.
Chariots and mystical units all holding steady.

First word of the attack arrived in the night,
A neighboring city had picked a fight.
News spread quickly in the Alliance.
All who knew, stood in defiance.
Well before dawn the troops were sent.
We all knew what this meant.

All ships in the harbor clashed.
The enemy ships were all bashed.
A few troops managed to reach the shore,
they quickly learned the score.
Gods were praised, for the dearly departed.
All that knew, it was War.
War was started.
[/spr]
Entry 3:

[spr]Romero, Romero, Please stop thy bleating!
or i'll ship over there to give you a good beating!

Your eyes may be red and full of hate,
at least my warehouse is full, because you've taken the bait.

There is no malice within my bone,
So please modify your language and your tone.

Romero, Romero, where art thou new boast?
Oh deary me, he's turned into a Ghost!

Romero, Romero, Please stop thy bleating!
or i'll ship over there to give you a good beating!

Your eyes may be red and full of hate,
at least my warehouse is full, because you've taken the bait.

There is no malice within my bone,
So please modify your language and your tone.

Romero, Romero, where art thou new boast?
Oh deary me, he's turned into a Ghost!
[/spr]
Entry 4:

[spr]Roses are red
Violets are blue
we are not allies
so I'll attack you

Your alliance helped out
and you rebuilt your wall
im ok with that
I got BP in the brawl

I took a ghost city
after I made an extra slot
and went back to your city
'cuz I like it a lot

your friends were very busy
with attacks from my buddies
you never saw it coming
a lesson in warfare studies
[/spr]
Entry 5:

[spr]Grepoholics Anonymous

Each and everyday of life
I wake to see how my troops suffice
Oh how these battle points keep me at bay
How long shall I sit here today?

And how I ponder alone in my realm
Thus a new city has developed a helm
Let's see how his pathetic attacks fare
Whilst my militia laugh and stare

Click upon click, as I slowly grow
So much time here spent and yet I slowly grow
Years upon time I have given my key
Shouldn't I already be VIP?

Thus an alliance, to shelter my cause
Armies a vast simply because
Naval ships amidst the tide
Cause some bloodshed, along my side!

If only this game, had listened to my opinion
Imagine the imagery, of bodies remained
Such is the cause, of this great life
With grepolis beside me, I need no wife!
[/spr]
Entry 6:

[spr]Once upon a time, I had a real life;
With friends, some money, and even a wife;

Now I'm just a lonely ol' mess;
Caught up in the game of Grepolis;

Don't you worry, I'll break free of this trap;
But wait a second, what's that on the map?!;

A cute little city, with a bright red flag;
Receiving a dose of my light ship swag.
[/spr]
Entry 7:

[spr]Throughout the ages,
We answer the call,
To conquer the cities,
And watch the walls fall.
Sending off Slingers,
Light Ships and pults,
Building for war,
Without any faults.
Oh how we love
Setting up our attacks,
Knowing our alliance
Always has our backs.
We pick the targets,
Both large and small,
To take over the world
Once and for all.
Changing the oceans,
From red to blue,
Working together,
That's how we grew,
Grepolis Strong,
Grepolis Wise
Grepolis Forever,
Forever, allies.
[/spr]
Entry 8:

[spr]For hours I sat by my screens dim light,
Planning and building for a truly epic fight.
My nukes were amassed, and ready to sail,
The date had been set, my allies mass mailed.

I arose from my seat to grab a quick nap,
I dreamed of my victory, and new cities on my map.
When I awoke, I yawned, then I gasped.
For upon seeing the time, ten hours had passed.

I'm now late for work, and should be calling my boss.
Instead I dashed to my desk, and am stunned by the loss.
My walls are demolished, my troops are all dead.
My light ships are sunk, revolts almost red.

I beckon my allies, who all rally to me.
The CS are en route, how surprised they will be.
Their attacks will all crash against my bireme wall.
Their ships will all sink, their troops will all fall.

Now that it's over it's time to rebuild,
I buy lots of gold, my wife is not thrilled.
I summon my army with buckets of gold,
and attack the aggressors that were so bold.

My onslaught successful, I now can relax.
My city slots, are filled to the max.
As I sit back in my chair, in triumphant bliss,
I sincerely admit, I LOVE GREPOLIS.
[/spr]
Entry 9:

[spr]Oh Manti Nuke, Oh, Manti Nuke let me count the ways;
A Grepolis Airborne advancement no one wants to play;

I'll check your harbor so you know it's me;
Then I'll assualt you relentlessly;

Retaliate you say, please do and don't delay;
I'll snipe and spike so you'll not want to play;

Bring your Bireme and Trireme and defend yourself please;
While I planned to take the unsupported City bringing it to it's knees;

Oh, Manti Nuke, Oh Manti Nuke let me count the ways;
I've sniped so many Colony Ships I can't count them in a day.
[/spr]
Entry 10:

[spr]Ode to Defense

Chariots are sharp;
Hoplites are too.
Send some my way,
my archers welcome you!

Catapults and slingers
a whole other story.
Swordsmen shall await
to thwart your glory.

Try some myths,
or a decoy or three;
I'll enact divine Wisdom
just to have a see.

Keep on attempting
to land your revolt.
Zeus will send to you
a Ritual Chain Lightning Bolt.

After you concede
in frustrated fashion,
please remember one thing;
I fight with a lover's passion.
[/spr]

We appreciate you taking the time to read the entries and hope that you enjoyed these lovely poems! We look forward to announcing the winner.

Regards,

Your Grepolis Team
