Vacation Mode Duration

I have seen a lot of various threads regarding Vacation Mode, but I did not locate one that answers my question. I may have missed it so please forgive me if that is the case. Anyways, my question is this... Is there a maximum duration for Vacation Mode or can a player go into it indefinitely?

The reason I am asking is there was a war declared on my former alliance and a few members cowardly went into VM. They have now been in VM for what seems like a good month and a half. I am wanting to know if it will end so I can take their cities or if those cities are destined to be nothing more than landmarks now?

you have 42 vacation days a year, a year ends on your Grepolis anniversary, the day you first made your account, not December 31st

Yes, thank you! Hopefully that means these cities will be opening up soon.

I would like to point out that they can also buy more days if they wish to, you are given 42 days from the game free but you can buy more if you wish.
