Troops not returning from support

I sent out troops to a neighboring village during a quest attack to protect them. They landed fine. After the attack I clicked for them to return. THEY DISAPPEARED and did not return. They still show as owned in the barracks but none at home (as if they are stationed elsewhere or marching). Trouble is, they are not marching and do not show as outside troops. Where did they go?

I have tried clearing cache and cookies but no luck.

Note: They are still taking up space in my population.

Trust me. That was one of the first things I tried. I think the Grepolis server needs a good thump. Or at least a reboot.

Oddest thing. After conquering another city my troops reappeared in the village where I initially sent them. I guess that was the "thump" that the Grepolis server needed.
