I know the types of nukes, but what determines how many of each unit?
Is it wise to attack decent sized cities before having a colony ship?
Cities that you know you can beat?

A nuke is something over 500 units, for me :-D
But you must also use the strongest unit you have, and whether you need to clear it now or later :)
If you want to attack a decent sized city, go for it! Just don't bite off more than you can chew ;-)
Anything under 6000 points is a walk in the park

A land nuke (sharing an island with an enemy) should be around 1500-3000 population worth.

An over sea land nuke (engaging an enemy from a different island) should be around 1800 population-2100 worth of land, the extra should be used for transport.

A navy nuke could be anywhere from 2000-3300 population worth.

*If attacking, take lightships into consideration*

My ls nukes depend on their location and island resource benefits. If it's a core city, with bonus wood, my nukes can will be about 290 without extra pop :p
