rules on dodging conquests

I thought it was allowed to do this but my friend said it wasn't allowed so i'm gonna ask you guys.
Is it allowed to dodge a clearing attack and then taking out the colony ship when it lands? This happened to me and i'm hoping it's not allowed but i'm not quite sure.

Yes it's possible and it's the best 'defense' tactic on a Conquest world. It obviously doesn't work on Revolt worlds :)
