hero is stuck in a conquered city

i sent my hero on an attack and while away my city was being taken over,they returned after the attack to attack the occupier and then this happened.

yeah she came back to her city being taken over and now is stuck in it as a ghost town? i cant reassign now cuz shes stuck,what can i do?
