So I worked out a binomial distribution problem today on the death rate of units for the Hades Portal event. I believe that if you hit the timer button with 100% efficiency (-1 trial) that you will not lose more than the following with 95% confidence:

90 Hoplite 126 Archer 126
270 Horseman 64 Slinger 104
480 Horseman 90 Hoplite 48
This means that if you pre-build this amout of units you should be good until the end of the event. I myself will try to perform at the 90 minute level for 18 hour days per city that I can. That should give me some success.
