Today we would like to inform you about our recent changes in regards to our development structure. With our current development sprint we have shortened the cycle from three weeks to a two-week cycle. With this change we hope to achieve more accuracy in reaching set sprint goals as well as agility in our development cycles. Shorter sprints mean less content with each upcoming update, yes; on the other hand however, we will be able to react faster and focus on sprint goals that are defined more clearly.
With this said, we also want to include the community more actively in making Grepolis the best game it can be. The current situation on our beta worlds is that many players lose interest in a very short amount of time. The main reasons for that are that players just want to get a quick peek on new features that will soon be available and beta testers are only rewarded on the beta and not on their real account.
In order to tackle this and make public beta testing a very efficient tool for everyone’s benefit, we would like to open an official Beta Focus Group.
What is the beta focus group?
The beta focus group will consist of 2 selected, very active players from each of our game markets. The players’ activity is measured by in-game experience as well as their involvement in the community forums.
Beta focus group members will aid us in beta testing new features, updates and game changes on our public beta environment. As members you will be asked to help improving the general quality of Grepolis by reporting bugs and providing feedback in direct exchange with our development team.
What are the benefits of being in the beta focus group?
Being a member of the beta focus group has several benefits.
• You will be able to be in direct contact with our developers through an exclusive platform on the beta forum, and thus be part of our international team. You will also be able to share feedback in exclusive surveys and special Q&A sessions with our developers and game designers.
• You will get a special rank on the beta forum as well as the community forum of your live account displaying your involvement as a beta focus group representative.
• You will earn some Grepolis gold for your live account as reward for your contribution on a monthly basis.
What is required to become a member of the beta focus group?
All beta focus group members should have a lot of experience in playing Grepolis. It is also required that you are involved in community discussions on your local Grepolis forum or the Grepolis Beta forum. Decent English skills are necessary for internal communication and the beta forum.
How can I become a beta focus group member?
To become a beta focus group member you will need to apply. Unfortunately, an application will not result in a guaranteed membership, since we only allow two players per market at the start of this project. This limitation might be extended over time however. We will evaluate all applications and handpick the most suitable applicants for a possible membership. Before coming a member, we will interview all fit applicants via written chat in order to make a decision.
