What is the farm for? In real life, farms have animals, but the farm in the game seems to be different. What does the farm do?

People need food. The farm "grows" enough food to support a certain population, therefore the farm governs max population.

what do you do when the farm reaches max level 45 i can't build anything , it tells me not enough farm space,which is at max. i can't train troops or accept quest troops for lack of population . has all my hard work been for nothing i'm really ticked off
