Define Active Member

As most people know, at the bottom of the main forum screen, they show various numbers such as threads, posts, members, etc. They also show active members. This made me curious. How does the forums define an active member? If anyone knows the answer, can you please tell me? Thank you.

I think (and i could be wrong) that in the case you mentioned active player pertains to who is on the site at the moment. Not how often they are on like in the game.

That is not what I was talking about. At the bottom it says: Members: 10798 Active Members: 531. That's what I'm talking about.

Maybe the members must've logged in over a certain amount of time, like maybe <1month to be considered "active". Just a guess.
