Changelog 2.126

Dear Community,

On Wednesday November 30th Grepolis will be updated to version 2.126. As always there will be a short downtime while the update is applied.

Summary

While preparations for the upcoming holidays are underway, we have also been working on yet another improvement for the era of world wonders - islands will now always have 20 town spots available as soon as a world wonder is built.
Additionally we prepared the shutdown of our mobile website since the app has long taken its place and fixed some bugs, of course.
Read on to learn more about all upcoming changes:

New Features and Changes

  • Islands with world wonders will now always have 20 town spots.
    • If the construction of a world wonder is started on an island with less than 20 available towns or founding spots, all remaining spots automatically appear for potential colonization.
    • Players restarting can no longer spawn on world wonder islands.
    • This change should allow for a fair competition and less irritation with players from other alliances randomly appearing on islands where a world wonder construction is already in progress.
  • Since we have our mobile app in place, the dedicated mobile website will be switched off on December 31st. A banner informs everyone visiting the page about the shutdown.
Bugfixes

  • General - Scaffolding of thermal baths no longer overlaps academy level 30.
  • General - Winners of a world again receive +10% extra favor automatically, no matter when they achieved this goal.
  • Alliance rights management - Cyrillic game version - Last column name caused scroll bars and overflows due to overlapping.
  • Reports - Island Quests - When supporting or attacking quest objectives, report titles now correctly reflect that the action was part of the quest, instead of stating "(none)".
  • Reports - Ghost towns mentioned in battle reports are now always clickable to allow for additional actions with these towns.
  • User Interface - When interacting with heroes before the respective tutorial step was reached, a JavaScript error was thrown. This is no longer the case.
  • Map - We separated some conjoined twin farming villages.
  • Map - A Bandit's camp was overlapping one of the farming village on one very special island. Balance has since been restored in this chaotic place.
  • Grepolisscore - Grepolympia - The correct Grepolympia icon is now displayed for the event category.
  • Grepolympia - Skill icons for chariot race were displayed in the wrong order.
  • Grepolympia - The ranking now correctly keeps the page your alliance is ranked on, even when switching between player and alliance ranking.

Dear players,

Due to an internal misunderstanding, the following changes have been communicated in an unprecise manner and the scope of changes has not been made perfectly clear to all players:

Islands with world wonders will now always have 20 town spots.

Contrary to what has been communicated before, these changes will be retroactive, meaning that any world wonder island will automatically have 20 spots after the changes are implemented. This is necessary due to the imbalance that would have been caused by only implementing this change for newly constructed world wonders.

We realize that this will have a big impact, especially to those involved in the fierce battle for world wonders and ultimately winning the world. Therefore we have decided to postpone the release of these changes until the next update and to rework the announcement accordingly:

Islands with world wonders will now always have 20 town spots.
  • If a world wonder was constructed on an island with less than 20 available towns or founding spots, all remaining spots will now automatically appear for potential colonization.
  • Players restarting can no longer spawn on world wonder islands as these spots are solely available for colonization.
  • This change is retroactive, affecting all world wonder islands. It should allow for a fair competition and less irritation with players from other alliances randomly appearing on islands where a world wonder construction is already in progress.

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Best regards,

Your Grepolis Team

After went through the new feature and changes, the new changes going to messed up the whole thing. the intention for this new changes is good as it will create and allow a more competition environment to all player but this changes should only apply to those world which WW haven't started.

for those world with wonder started or even wonder completed, this changes will not be fair to those wonder holder. this is major changes and I think that inno should proceed with a survey before deploy the changes. Please reconsider again and do not apply this changes to those Wonder started world in order to be fair to those wonder keeper and all the player in Grepolis US.

I really don't like making this retroactive. Worlds already in WW have set their strategies based on the existing behavior, taking advantage of whatever the rules were in place. All alliances could take advantage of the incomplete islands, so this isn't really broken there. I agree, moving forward it could change. But don't screw with worlds already in the existing lame end game.

Exactly like what MarkASp said, there's not reason and is not fair for those player/alliance who work hard to build up their wonder. it's all about the strategies based and the new change log will mess the thing up.

New changes was trying to create a more competition and fair environment to everyone, but the new changes was not think ahead for those wonder keep so i can see that there's not fair to wonder keeper.

Every changes should help the game/player work better and not to waste their time and ignore user comment.

first thing i've seen that actually makes sense... these players need to realize they are at the mercy of a "free" game... nothing at all about a war game says get as far away from any action and build a city on an island all by itself and hope no can get close... if you all are that worried- you can just found instead of taking internals eh??

Dear community,

We would like to inform you that we have now taken the decision to not roll out the aforementioned change in version 2.127.

After we first introduced the idea of retroactively activating 20 town spots for each island with a world wonder in construction, we have received a lot of valid feedback and concerns, indicating that this change could tip the balance in the existing fight for winning current game worlds. Additionally we found that this change would pose a grave balancing issue for the endgame if introduced in the manner it was initially planned.

However, we stand by the decision that this change is needed and players embracing the general need for enabling these town spots validate our plans even further.

Therefore the following adjustments have been made to roll out the change as soon as possible without imposing too much of an impact for worlds on which the era of world wonders has already begun: With version 2.128 this change will be implemented for new and existing worlds on which the era of world wonders is not yet in progress. All other worlds will not be affected by this change. We will of course also indicate this again in the changelog for version 2.128.

We believe that this adjustment to the schedule caters to the needs of most players as we will introduce the improvement as soon as possible while still keeping an eye on existing endgame situations and are looking forward to any additional feedback you might have on this topic.

Best regards,

Your Grepolis team
