Morale System: First Stage

Over the recent months we had an increasing number of players voicing their concerns and dissatisfaction with the morale system and the current requirement to have morale active on most new game worlds.

However, we are also aware that this system has some flaws, which have recently caused issues on some of the US game worlds.

Morale has been an ongoing topic with the Grepolis development team in the Hamburg headquarters for the past months. Being aware of the issues, were trying to find a solution that would ideally be comprehensive and solve all issues at once. However, the more we worked on such an all-encompassing solution, the more we had to come to terms with the fact that most of our solutions, while sounding promising at first, came with another set of potential flaws. Under these circumstances and with recent developments in mind, we have now decided that a change in strategy is required and therefore our take on the morale system will change into a more iterative one.

With recent creative use of this game mechanic and considering all related issues, we feel it is imperative to introduce a first change to the morale system as soon as possible. As the US market has been experiencing the most problems with the flawed system lately, we plan to implement these changes on all US and beta worlds with version 2.148.

We realize that any such game changes may entail a change in strategy for some players, therefore we have decided to to publish a summary of the planned changes on our DevBlog to give all players the opportunity to take preparations before the update to version 2.148 hits US worlds on October 4th, 2017.
